All shipping lines have at the beginning of the year made quite moderate changes in the rates, around plus US $ 150 / TEU.
However there are still problems in the Gothenburg port. Last week delays incurred due to storm and heavy weather and the overtime ban which means that the port is not able to put in extra resources. Despite the ongoing dialogue, the Dockworkers Union announced a new strike notice. The strike is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 January, from 12:00 to 20:00.
The office is open on weekdays during Christmas and New Year.

An update on the shipping front - in November, rates have moved upward by approximately US $ 300 / TEU. We have received indications of future freight rate increases in the month of December, but as usual, you can probably expect considerably lower increases than announced.
The mediation regarding the conflict in the port of Gothenburg has been called off and the ban on overtime, newhire freeze, use of pool workers are resumed.
This means that handling times at the port will be longer during the week. We will keep you informed as soon as possible if you are affected.
