The situation worldwide in the transport sector remains strained. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has had far-reaching effects, but the consequences due to the pandemic are far from over, as China does not hesitate to close down a city of millions like Shanghai, regardless of the consequences. Together with the new EU directives, the result will be a really messy freight market. Due to recent developments, the economic consequences are strongly affecting the entire transport industry, with skyrocketing fuel prices as a consequence. Freight buyers are facing considerably increased fuel surcharges and we have not yet seen the end of the development. Sea from Asia works, but as before, there are severe delays that mainly occur in Europe at the moment. The railway operators are trying to reroute the train traffic between China and Europe, hopefully this will work better in the future. In the meantime, sea / air is a possible solution for transports that require a little faster handling. The airfreight works, however, with some delays.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any thoughts about choosing different options for your transport.
