We are pleased to inform you that Maersk has initiated a return to the route via the Suez Canal.

This decision is based on the stabilisation of conditions in and around the Red Sea and the Suez corridor. Following test sailings carried out in December and January, Maersk is now gradually reverting to its original service pattern. This will result in more efficient transport solutions and an expected reduction in transit times of approximately one week.

Maersk will continue to closely monitor the security situation in the region. The service remains dependent on the absence of any escalation in regional conflicts. The safety of crew, assets, and customers’ cargo remains the highest priority. Should the security situation deteriorate, contingency plans are in place, which may result in services once again being routed around the Cape of Good Hope.

At present, no other carriers are operating via the Suez Canal.
